In one week, two employees left Mentor Public Library, one through retirement, and the other because his position
"was eliminated due to budget cuts". In that very same week, two employees were added to the staff. The end result of these
changes in personnel was the following..
1) By many accounts, the highest rated instructor of computer classes in library history was gone and thus, 3 well
attended classes were simply no longer offered.
2) The technology staff was reduced in half meaning all questions, problems, breaks and general updates would now take
twice as long to be attended to by a qualified person.
3) Most shocking of all. The over-all Library budget INCREASED by roughly $10,000 per year.
Other points to remember as you vote.
In the last year, the library spent over $500 dollars for security software with a one year license period for that fee.
It was NEVER put into use during that time period. End result, $500 burned.
These are but a very few of the vast numbers of absolute mis-management of both funds and personnel by the current library
board and its administration. Mentor flat out deserves better. Do not support this issue as it only adds more money to the
funds which the current administration is wasting left and right. Tell them you will not support such careless management
by VOTING NO on Issue 11.
